Modern Security for Modern Protocols: How Syndicate Builds With Confidence Using Olympix
The smart contract threat landscape is shifting. For infrastructure protocols like Syndicate, traditional audits are necessary but not sufficient. Their contracts coordinate assets, permissions, and protocol-level logic across Web3-native organizations. Any security failure is not just a bug; it’s a platform risk.
To scale securely, Syndicate needed a system that could embed security into every phase of development, not just after code was written. That’s where Olympix came in.
Introduction to Syndicate
Syndicate builds the infrastructure for appchains—networks with their own rules, economies, and communities. At its core is a programmable on-chain sequencer that gives developers full control over how transactions are ordered, fees are distributed, and governance is enforced. This unlocks scalable, community-owned networks that can be designed and evolved on their own terms.
This responsibility means security isn’t a phase. It’s a foundation.
The Challenge: Moving Fast Without Breaking Safety
Syndicate has always prioritized security. Their stack already included fuzz testing, formal verification, simulations, and comprehensive testing. But they still needed:
High-signal static analysis that integrates directly into CI/CD
Lightweight tooling that doesn’t slow down fast-moving teams
Better test generation to reduce coverage gaps without extra developer effort
How Olympix Helped
Olympix provided a layered security framework that Syndicate could use continuously, not just before audits.
Static Analysis That Fits Into the Developer Loop
Olympix’s static analyzer helped Syndicate enforce best practices in real time. It caught issues like unguarded tx.origin checks, unsafe gas assumptions, and inconsistent validation logic.
AI Assistant for Code Comprehension
Syndicate engineers were early testers of Olympix’s AI assistant. They used it to query contract behavior, ask design questions, and receive actionable insights from the tool’s analysis.
"The ability to ask things like, ‘What happens if this module interacts with a multisig?’ and get a structured response was pretty awesome." — Gus, Engineer at Syndicate
Developer-First Integration
Olympix integrated directly into Syndicate’s workflows via CLI and GitHub Actions. Engineers received inline feedback and could suppress noise via config files, not code clutter.
Impact: Technical Results
Layered security validation: Static, test, mutation, and AI coverage work together to catch what others miss
Shifted security left: Engineers got feedback early and often, not just at audit time
Streamlined internal audits: Less time fixing issues during formal audits, more time on higher-order risks
Impact: Business Results
Faster Development: Engineers could build quickly with confidence, knowing Olympix was running in the background
Lower Costs: One platform provided continuous validation without needing separate vendors for each technique
Internal Security Ownership: Olympix empowered developers, rather than depending on external reviews alone
Conclusion: Security Without Slowdown
Syndicate didn’t just improve their audit prep. They built a security model that scales with their engineering velocity. Olympix’s continuous validation suite gave their team confidence in every commit, every deploy, and every integration.
Security became part of how they build—not a thing to catch up on later.

What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Huobi | Amount Lost: $8M
On September 24th, the Huobi Global exploit on the Ethereum Mainnet resulted in a $8 million loss due to the compromise of private keys. The attacker executed the attack in a single transaction by sending 4,999 ETH to a malicious contract. The attacker then created a second malicious contract and transferred 1,001 ETH to this new contract. Huobi has since confirmed that they have identified the attacker and has extended an offer of a 5% white hat bounty reward if the funds are returned to the exchange.
