$305M Vanishes: DMM, Predy, Tsuru, and OSN Wrecked by Wallet Compromise and Access Control Failures
DMM lost $304M after a BTC wallet compromise. Predy Finance dropped $464K to a locker misuse in Uniswap callbacks. Tsuru’s weak token minting checks cost $410K. OSN leaked $110K through a dividend logic flaw. Largest heist of the year so far, all tied to stale access assumptions.
In Brief
DMM was targeted in a $304M attack.
Predy Finance was exploited for $464K.
Tsuru lost $410K due to inadequate access control.
OSN Token suffered a $110K logic vulnerability exploit.
Hacks Analysis
DMM | Amount Lost: $304M
On May 31st, the DMM exploit resulted in a $304M loss. The root cause of the exploit was the compromise of DMM’s wallet, which allowed the attacker to withdraw 4,502.9 BTC. The DMM team acknowledged the incident and announced that they were investigating the issue and that they would reimburse all of the stolen assets to affected users. DMM spot purchases were also temporarily restricted.
On May 14th, the Predy Finance exploit on the Arbitrum chain resulted in a loss of $464K. The root cause was a lack of regulated access control in PredyPool contract’s take() function, guarded by an onlyByLocker modifier, which was exploited due to improper validation in the trade() function. The attacker registered a Uniswap trading pair, manipulated the locker value, and used the callback function to transfer and withdraw tokens. The Predy Finance team acknowledged the exploit and proposed a 10% bounty to the exploiter.

On May 10th, the Tsuru exploit on the Base chain resulted in a $410K loss. The root cause was a lack of regulated access control in the TSURUWrapper contract’s onERC1155Received() function, which lacked adequate authentication. This vulnerability allowed anyone to mint TSURU tokens and swap them for ETH on the Uniswap Liquidity pool. The attacker minted 167,200,200 TSURU tokens and swapped them for 137.78 ETH.

On May 6th, the OSN token exploit on the BNB chain resulted in a $110K loss. The root cause was a logic flaw in the reward mechanism. The transfer() function of the OSN token contract invokes the swapAndSendDividends() function to sell tokens and send BUSD rewards to the OSNLpDividendTracker contract. The attacker repeatedly bought and sold OSN tokens by calling the swapAndSendDividends() function, causing the OSNLpDividendTracker contract to accumulate rewards.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Huobi | Amount Lost: $8M
On September 24th, the Huobi Global exploit on the Ethereum Mainnet resulted in a $8 million loss due to the compromise of private keys. The attacker executed the attack in a single transaction by sending 4,999 ETH to a malicious contract. The attacker then created a second malicious contract and transferred 1,001 ETH to this new contract. Huobi has since confirmed that they have identified the attacker and has extended an offer of a 5% white hat bounty reward if the funds are returned to the exchange.
